Trip to the Smokies

We have had a great last few weekends--so much so that I feel like we now have to take some time to do work around the house! Two weekends ago Ann came up to take care of Mira while Justin and I had a couples weekend in Atlanta. Unfortunately Mira passed her cold on to Ann....

Memorial Day weekend we met Keith, Caroline, Ella and Sean at a cabin in the Smokies. I had only driven through Gatlinberg before, so it was fun to have the true smokies experience.

Mira loves to play with blocks. She can stack 7 or 8 high and she is getting good at her numbers and letters. I am not sure how much she really understands and how much she just repeats patterns...

It takes lots of concentration!

Mira all sauced up in downtown Gatlinberg. I loved the fact that every other store was a chocolate shop. Baby weight, here I come!

Family hike

Big nasty black snake that ran across our path. I am deathly afraid of snakes and am surprised I didn't scream! It reminded me of the first hike Justin and I ever took together. I did scream on that hike when we ran across a similar snake.

Mira actually hiked some of the way, but she gets easily distracted so it was slow going when she was out of the pack. Sean and Ella were troopers and walked most of the way.

Snacks at the turn-around point

Walking on a tree to cross the stream

Fun in the pool

Ella was a GREAT helper! I wish I had her around all the time to help with Mira! She even changes diapers!

Sunday while the boys went for a 14-mile trek the girls and Sean hit the outlet mall. Unfortunately Mira upchucked (I think due to motion sickness) on the way there and we drove around the rest of the day in a vomit-smelling car. YUCK! Here Mira has obviously recovered and we are dining at Wendy's. It is amazing the fun kids can have with straws!

The kiddos even bathed together. Watch out Sean!
