August Activities

As always, it has been a busy past few weeks. Miriam is slowly adjusting to life at Waseca. She is eating their school lunch (she is an omnivore; there are also vegetarian and vegan option!) and making new friends. She also had her first official daycare bug (a stomach bug!) and passed it on to both Mom and Dad. I even had to take a sick day--the first since I moved down to Georgia! We celebrated my birthday on the 20th with a trip to the Grit and then a visit the following weekend from my parents and Justin's mom. Torsten has been visiting from Germany so we have been trying to get together with him as much as possible as well.

This past weekend was full of activities. We were supposed to go to a Waseca potluck on Friday but it was rained out. Saturday we took our weekly trip to the Farmer's Market and then Mira participated in an infant study at UGA's psychology lab. After that Mira took her nap and I donated blood....then headed to the annual neighborhood party at Little Kings's. Sunday I went with Kay and one of her friends to Chateu Elan to do some wine tasting...but had to cut our visit a little short as Kay got sick. Poor girl!

Oh, and Miriam gave me an iPhone for my birthday and I have spent the last week or so obsessed with finding new apps and figuring out how it works!

Although she is adjusting well, Miriam still doesn't get as much sleep at daycare as she did at home. Here she has fallen asleep at her highchair during dinner.

Having fun with Oppie, Amie, and Grandma Ann.

Playing with bubbles on the front porch

Sharing a beer with Torsten

Stuck on the other side of the door!
