Labor Day in Nashville

We had a great Labor Day weekend visiting with Caroline, Keith, Ella, and Sean Hanson in Nashville, Tennessee! It was a first trip there for all the Wideners. We started out a little early on Friday afternoon and then were able to spend all day Saturday and Sunday hanging out. Saturday we went to the zoo and then the adults went to a fancy dinner and toured downtown Nashville. We tried to find Justin some cowboy boots but they didn't live up to his comfort requirement. Sunday was spent in historic Franklin, doing a little shopping, and swimming in the neighborhood pool.
Monday I was able to meet up with one of my good friends from grad school, Laura. Laura now has an exciting job working at the Tennessee Beaureau of Investigation. I can't believe I hadn't seen her in 6 years! Spending time with Caroline and Laura really made me miss my friends. I hope that someday I can make such good friends here in Athens.
Okay, now an update on the babe. She is officially 11 months old today so I can really move full speed ahead on planning her birthday party. She says "Abby" all the time when she sees Abigail or any other furry friend (we heard a lot of "Abby" at the zoo). She can almost walk, but not quite. She will walk when she is assisted by an object she can push or an adult's hands. She tries to walk on her own (she is scared of NOTHING!) but moves quite quickly and loses her balance. It won't be long!

Check out the hair!

Things like battery chargers and carbon monoxide detectors are SO much more interesting than toys!
