The heat is on

Greetings!  This has been a relatively laid-back week.  On the weekend Justin drove to B'ham to help Colin, Becca, and Anna move into their new place and to help build a fence for their dog Derby.  For me it was a girls' weekend: Mira and I hung out on Friday because our nanny had her wisdom teeth removed and then we went outlet mall shopping with Kay on Saturday.  Due to some unfortunate circumstances (her sinuses being cracked by the oral surgeon!) Amanda is out sick the rest of the week and so Justin and I are trading off on the childcare duties.

We are now packing for our trip to Minnesota!  We are very excited to see friends and family and to get away from the sauna that has been Athens the past couple of weeks!

Becca and Anna.  I can't wait to see Anna in person again.  She is getting so big!

Cute cheeks!  I have been told that she looks just like her Grandma Ann did when she was a baby!

Full of smiles!  And look at those rolls on her legs!

Mira in "jail."  I am afraid that she may turn out to be a climber because she is trying to pull herself up on everything.  She also sometimes gets her legs stuck all the way through the bars of the crib and then screams bloody murder because she can't get them out.  Poor thing!  She is also going through another teething phase right now.  Last night she woke up in the middle of the night wailing and it was really hard to calm her down.  Oh, and I think that Justin has conceded and I have won the crawling bet!  She isn't too fast, but she is definitely getting where she wants to go!  Watch out world!

We are trying to teach Mira to use the sippy cup herself.  Right now she kind of tries to suck from it without getting much out because she doesn't tilt it far back enough.  Then she kind of plays with it a little and ends up dumping the contents out on the floor or on herself.  Usually both.  Luckily we are just giving her water.
