I have been dying to post pictures for days and days but we must have left the camera/computer cord at the hospital and I just remembered to pick one up today....
We decided to take an early discharge from the hospital, so we went home last Sunday, September 19 in the late afternoon, just a little over 24 hours after Cecilia was born. I wasn't sleeping well at the hospital, and it is impossible to take a nap with all the people in and out of the room, so we decided home would be better.
We were very very lucky that Shu-shu was able to clear her schedule and drive to Athens the day that Cecilia was born, and then stay for the whole week. I almost feel like it was a vacation while she was visiting. John also came up and stayed for a few days. They were both AMAZING--John did tons of work on our yard and power-washed the exterior of the house. Ann was on Mira patrol each night and took me for outings each day so I wouldn't get cabin fever. Before she left she cooked us 3 big gourmet meals to put in the freezer. YUM!
Now a few notes on Cecilia: she is a wonderfully happy and sleepy baby. She does have her moments of fussiness, but for the most part she is very content. She has already regained her birth weight, which means we do not have to wake her every 3 hours to eat. She generally sleeps 3 to 4 hours between feedings, so although I am usually getting up twice each night, I am not up between feedings at night too (although sometimes she is fussy and Justin is a trooper and gets up with her).
On Saturday we had a co-worker of mine who is a photographer come over and take some pictures of Cecilia as well as some family pictures. I will share as soon as they are available!
This week Justin has been working part time so that I am able to take some afternoon naps (which is a luxury) and so we can have some family time. We haven't had too many crying "duets" so far but Mira is having a little trouble adjusting. She absolutely LOVES Cecilia but I think she is a bit stressed because she is having some sleeping problems.
My mom is coming to visit on Friday or Saturday to help out next week, and Mira's birthday party will be the following weekend.

Mira's favorite new snack is Chex mix dipped in milk

Our first trip out just the four of us to Memorial Park. We fed the ducks, took a walk, and made a stop at the playground.

...and then leaning over to give a kiss
Little stinker! Gnawing on a carrot and stuffing herself into Cecilia's Moses basket!
