Armaya turned 2 on Monday and she celebrated with a birthday party last weekend, which included a trip to Monkey Joe's. Apparently Monkey Joe's is a "bouncy place" and trumps the one in Athens, "Pump it Up" because it has recliners and TVs for the parents. Justin and I skipped out Monkey Joe's this time as Mira can't yet participate and we're sure we'll get our fill in the future.
We got quite a bit of cleanup done on the front rooms this past weekend and our next big step is getting the light fixtures hung. Our contractor has been busy so unfortunately it won't happen for a little while yet.
Justin's birthday was on Wednesday. We celebrated by going to lunch at the Last Resort and then cooking a good steak dinner that night. We are also having friends over to grill out on Saturday and I am baking the Lil' Jim's Pudding Cake" from the Grit cookbook. YUM! I'm sure I'll post lots of pictures of the gathering next week.
Yesterday Miriam had her 9-month appointment and again, let me assure you that she is SOLID. She was 29 inches long (95%) and 22lb 9oz (95%) and her head is holding steady at the 10th percentile. Mira now weighs more than 2 year-old Armaya.
Armaya and the monkey cake I baked for her!

Miriam LOVED this gold crinkly tissue paper from one of Armaya's gifts
We had a great dinner with John and Josette on Saturday night
Miriam hanging out with mom and dad at Ike & Jane's in her cute monogrammed sweater. It was a little chilly that morning and I figured she should wear it as much as she can before she grows out of it!
