Justin, Mira, Scooter, Abby and I had a great few days in Beaufort. Although we have not been big partiers for quite a while, this New Year's Eve was especially tame. We had a great meal with Ann and then were asleep by midnight (at least I hope we were--Mira was crying for quite a while!).
Tomorrow I start back at work part time. Since we have not been able to find child care we are comfortable with, I am going to go into the office as soon as Justin arrives home from work. It isn't ideal, but hopefully it will not last long. It actually will probably be a good transition for me. I imagine otherwise I would be sobbing in the car the first day I dropped her off with someone else.
This is Mira just moments ago. I can never seem to catch her smile on camera! She is getting really good at reaching for objects and is quite interested in her rattles. She is still trying her darndest to suck her thumb but hasn't quite gotten it yet. She has gotten very proficient at knocking her pacifier out of her mouth in her attempt to find her thumb, though. We are hanging out and folding laundry while Justin is asleep. His bedtime is now especially early since he is going to try to adjust his schedule so I can be at work by the late afternoon.

We had a great time meeting Anna Cate and Jack. I absolutely cannot IMAGINE having twins. If you go back the blog and look at my posting around July 4th you can see pictures of Angel and I, both pregnant. Her due date was just 3 days before mine but the twins were actually born about a month ahead of Mira. The above picture is John and Angel with Anna Cate and Miriam. Jack missed out on the picture because he was already in bed.
