77 Dog Years

Last Sunday Scooter turned 11 years old--that is 77 in dog years.  I can't believe it!  I got Scooter as a graduation from college present because I didn't want to go all the way down to Birmingham by myself.  I feel really old.

This week has been a lot easier than last week.  We now have a nanny, Amanda, who comes over with her 18 month daughter Armi.  Amanda is part-time for now but in a month or so she will probably be full time.  It has been great to have her around.  She kind of reminds me of my sister.

This weekend we spent a good chunk of time moving furniture out of our front two rooms.  We are starting renovations on the front part of the house on Tuesday or Wednesday and by some act of God we were able to get all of our furniture into our guest room.  I am hoping the project goes smoothly and doesn't take too long!  We should end up with higher ceilings, access to the attic, and better insulation.

Last night we had dinner with my Ph.D. mentor Scott and his family.  It was wonderful seeing him.  When I first started in the lab his son Nick was in a high chair.  Now he's in 6th grade!  Mira reverted back to her colicy days just in time for dinner.  Oh well, we all made it.

Tomorrow is a holiday for me but not Justin.  It is my last holiday until the 4th of July.  I won't be taking much vacation until then either since I had to use all of my sick leave and annual leave as maternity leave.

Justin is playing with Mira here.  She now loves to put everything in her mouth.  Her drool faucet has turned on as well.

I finally caught Miriam smiling!

Here she is in one of her cute outfits from Miss Caroline!

It has been very cold this week.  We have been bundling Mira in her snowsuit for our walks.

Scooter's 11th birthday party.  He doesn't look very excited.
