Okay, I think this might set the record as the most pictures per blog post (of mine) ever. We had a great time visiting WDW. I can't get too much into this on the blog because I really want to spend my energy making a photo book for print-out, if Shutterfly is nice. They are not nice so far.
The car ride down was good. We broke it up into 2 days, which was probably unnecessary but we then didn't have to travel on the most busy days of the holiday weekend. We stayed overnight in Valdosta, swam at the hotel and ate a really gross dinner at Faziolis. The next day we made it to Orlando in about 3 hours, stocked up on groceries, ate some lunch, and headed to WDW.
View from our hotel room at Bay Lake Tower
Another view. We were on the 14th floor.
Peasant Cinderella dress
Fun in the hotel room!
Yes, it was hot. First day we rode the monorail.
Checking out the pool
She can smile!
Sweet
Stroller peek-a-boo!
Modeling their shirts
First character encounter: Pluto
Second character encounter: the adored Cinderella. This was pretty much the response to all princesses, although she did warm up a little bit toward the end.
The girls and Cinderella
Belle
Rapunsel
FRIGHTENED!
The statues were a bit less intimidating!
Tuesday: pool day!
Hanging
7pm marshmallow roast!
Like father, like daughter
Emporium
We got a sneak-peek of Belle's castle!
Teacups
Waiting for Fairy Godmother
Fairy Godmother
I think she was exhaused!
Lunch with the princesses!
"Birthday" cupcakes
Mickey and Minnie. Sometimes it was good to get in line to meet the characters just to get out of the heat!
Ceci wanted nothing to do with them!
Roasting marshmallows again, with Stephanie and Sophia this time.
We wanted to go to the pool but there was lightening so everyone was kicked out.
Playing in the sand is fun anyway!
Took advantage of the big tub with the jets and the kids loved it!
Princess Aurora
We tried to visit Mary Poppins the day before since M had on her Mary Poppins outfit. Didn't work out. So here is Aurora meeting Mary Poppins.
M insisted on these ears in place of a tiara and I gave it. Then it was a big fight for her to keep them on the rest of the day! Doggonit! If I was going to spend the $$ on a special treat, she was GOING to love it!
Peer pressure
Climbing the Treehouse!
For some strange reason M refused to get into this picture with Ariel. Of course, C refused as well.
Teacups, again. And again. And again.
Wow, by this time on Thursday Mira actually rushed to get in line to meet the White Rabbit. I do think the "plush" characters are less intimidating.
Tiana was so sweet to Ceci, but she just freaked out and refused to get into the picture.
Last day with Sophia and Stephanie. Everyone was a little sad and a lot exhaused!
Riding the train around the park, just to ride the train.
We loaded the kids up in the stroller and WENT OUT the last night. Until almost 11pm. Learned that the kids, especially Ceci, are terrified of fireworks. Oops.
J and the kids in front of the castle after the awesome lights parade
Last day splurge: buffet breakfast at Chef Mickey.
Ceci actually gave Mickey a high 5!
Um. YUM.
Classic
