Summer 2011 Trip to Minnesota, Part 1: The State Fair

We had an uneventful trip on the airplane to Minnesota the Saturday before Labor Day. I was glad to be getting away. Justin had been out of town pretty much the whole week before we left, and there were several incidents (dead battery in the Odyssey, cancelled babysitter, etc.) that would have been sooo much easier to deal with if Justin had been home. Oh well, that is why he gets paid the big bucks!

I have so many pictures from the trip that I am going to have to break this up into several posts. Our first activity was to go to the State Fair! It was actually quite chilly that day--I don't think it even reached 70 degress, which was a huge shock for the Georgia peaches.

Me and the cousins at the mock farm

Sophia and Mira on the bus on the way to the fair. Mira absolutely ADORES Sophia and tries to copy pretty much everything she does.

My first purchase: a Belgian waffle on a stick, covered in chocolate and whipped cream. YUM.

Sophia with her John Deere hat!

Mira getting into the farming spirit!

My cutie pie!

Mira even got to go on rides! She was about 1-1/2 inches too short to go on by herself, so Daddy went with her on most.

It finally warmed up enough for ice cream from the dairy building

A bunch of good looking ladies!

Mira loves the "I see London, I see France...." song and will lift up her skirt so that it can be sung over and over!

We visited the pig booth

Pickle on a stick!

Hmmm....does she like pickles?

This was her face afterward...I think the jury is still out!

Bus ride home. You can see they had a great time. Mira is covered in chocolate!
