Distant Island August 2011

Justin and I took a few days off of work and headed down to Beaufort to enjoy some time with Shu-Shu, Daddy John, Colin, Becca, Anna and Mary.

Day 1: the Boys went fishing and Ann had to work, so the girls had fun in this awesome pool in the backyard.

It was really great to see Mira and Anna interact! They can really communicate now and have such fun playing together! I think they also have a special connection since they are both big sisters.

Relaxing in front of the Sound of Music after a hard morning of swimming!

Ceci and Mary looking at books. Ceci officially took her first steps! I wouldn't say she is walking, but she is standing up on her own, taking a few steps, and falling down. Interesting that she stands herself up without holding onto anything...Mira always pulled herself up. Cecilia pulls herself up too, but when she tries to take the steps on her own, she is not usually close to a stable object.

Afternoon Ice Cream Parlor run!

Day 2: Hunting Island. Mary is taking it all in!

This was Cecilia's first time at the beach. She ate her share of sand, but it wasn't nearly as difficult to keep it out of her mouth as it was with Mira when she was Ceci's age! Oh, and Ceci's top two teeth have just started poking through! FINALLY!

Mira got some scrapes on her knees the day before the beach, so it took a while for her to venture into the water. Once she did, she was LOVING it!

I wish I had as much energy as this little girl!

Day 3: Boys went swimming off the dock, then we all headed to the pool. While the boys were swimming the older girls, Becca, and I headed to the park. Justin and I even had a date night that ended with some DELICIOUS chocolate birthday cake for me (a week early)!v vHere Anna and Mira are having the requesite snack.

Wow, a shot of the cousins! They are not all looking at the camera, but I think it still turned out good! Mary: 5 months, Anna: 30 months, Cecilia: 11 months, Mira: 34 months

One of the last things that the girls did before we left was take a look at the crabs in the trap that Daddy John set. Too bad we weren't staying long enough to eat some!
