Party Planning
Ceci's party was this past weekend. I have to admit that I went a little OCD with the planning of the party. But I really enjoy it. I think sometimes I like the planning more than the execution of the actual event.
Here are her invitations. She and M had coordinating dresses (I don't think I got M in a picture of one) and we even had a special photo session for the invitation (a la yours truly)
Button lollipops for the treat bags. In the theme colors of the party. Note: I learned a lot about molding chocolate from this experience! I also covered old cans with cardstock and ribbon to make cute little holders.
Close up of the pops. It was a pain to bag them all!
Mini play-doh covered in cardstock, tied with a ribbon and finished with a button! Another treat bag component.
I think these looked really cool.
For the girls I had a button-themed bow.
I didn't know how many people were coming, so there are lots of leftovers!
For the boys I made button bookmarks. This was an "easy" project to do in the car on the way to WDW
Treat bags. I meant to buy all white but forgot. I stamped them with some cute button stamps and fastened little button circles that said "thank you SEW much for coming to my party." These were also a little more labor intensive than I had envisioned.
Cupcakes. Hershey's cocoa with marshmallow fluffy frosting. I decorated with sprinkles and button candies that I made.
YUM
Close up!
Buntings. These were pretty cheap to make and somewhat monotonous. Made mostly on the car ride to WDW.
I really like how they turned out!
All decorated with help from the Widener/Gribb clan!
Apothecary jars filled with buttons, yarn pom poms, ribbon balls, and tissue paper. Thanks mom!
Painted and yarn or button embellished letters
Cute backdrop!
Polka dot straws
Caterpillar kabobs!
Button sugar cookies
Party Time!
Bouce house!
In addition to the bounce house I made play doh in the party theme colors and had a "make your own button" craft table

Make your own sandwich table. Turkey, ham, condiments, plus some chickpea spread and a really yummy wild rice edamame salad!
For some reason Ceci wanted to wear a single leg warmer all day long. Oh well!
Cutie!
Having fun with play doh!
Neighbors!
Anna got along really well with them!
Getting ready for cake
Ceci didn't really know what to do...
...so Jonas helped her out!

Not afraid to get sticky!

All the kids stripped down to their underwear. Not quite sure why.
