It has been a long time since I have had time to post! We have been busy! We have been working a lot on the house and so I will add those pictures in another post since the picture limit is 5. Well, last weekend was Valentine's Day and we celebrated by ordering pizza and watching a DVD. For those of you who don't know, last year on Valentine's Day was the day I found out I was pregnant. We had been trying for over a year to have a baby....but had decided to take a break while Justin was defending his thesis. I really only took the test "just in case" because I wanted to have a glass of wine that night. After taking the test I actually threw it in the garbage can and walked into the kitchen. It must have been a full minute before I realized, "Wait, that was a +!" and went back to the bathroom to dig it out of the trash. I told Justin in his Valentine's Day card. It also took him a minute to process it. Then we went out for pizza in a state of shock. We have since decided pizza will be our Valentine's Day tradition.
This past week Mira had rice cereal for the first time. In all the books I read they said not to worry if the baby doesn't like it right away, just try it again in a few weeks. Well Mira, my good eater, was so excited she could barely contain herself! We'll stick with it probably for another month or so before we add veggies.
We have been lucky enough in the past week to hang out with friends and family. We tried a new Thai restaurant in Athens with Hilary and Beau on Thursday night. It was great to catch up with them and talk about pregnancy stuff. I went to a mom's group that my neighbor had at her house this week; their son also turned 1-year old this weekend and they were nice enough to invite us to his party. We had a wonderful time meeting new people and chatting with non-scientists. On Sunday we hung out with Steve, Ann, John and Josette last night at the Hajduks. Ann fixed a yummy Indian meal.
Justin insisted on taking lots of pictures. I think this is my "why the heck are you taking a picture of me???" face
