Earlier than expected....

Well, I went to the doctor yesterday and although I feel HUGE I guess that the baby is kind of small for 36 weeks. So the doctor went ahead and scheduled an induction at 39 weeks. At first it was to me very counterintuitive that I would be induced early if the baby was too small, but the reasoning is that the baby may not be getting enough nutrients through the placenta, and so it is best to get him out sooner rather than later. I will go into the hospital the night of the 9th and given a drug to make me efface/dilate, and then I will get pitocin the next day to start the contractions. I am not thrilled about the idea of being induced because I was hoping to spend much of the labor at home and because I have heard that it is much more painful. However, I want to do whatever is the very best for Squirt.
